What is the truth about the photos circulated for a design related to the expansion of the Kaaba in 2030?
Several pages and public groups on social media platforms circulated photos as belonging to a futuristic idea of the design of the Kaaba in 2030!
The truth:
The Development of Makkah Region Authority denied the authenticity of the photo circulated on social media platforms, which were said to be the final form after the expansion of the Grand Mosque in 2015.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Makkah Development Authority, Eng. Khaled Fida explained that the authority is not concerned with planning for the central area around the Grand Mosque, pointing out that its role is limited only to coordinating with government and private agencies on developing the area. In 2015, some media and pages on social media platforms circulated photos of the Grand Mosque, indicating that they represent the new form proposed by the Makkah and Development Authority for the Grand Mosque and will work to implement it during the next five years, i.e., 2020, but this news is incorrect. We also contacted the Saudi Anti-Rumors Authority, which confirmed that this claim is false.
The authority said that there is no new expansion of the Great Mosque of Mecca, and the works are now based on the completion of the previous development.
Note: The claim was previously circulated in 2015 without relying on any source, and both the Higher Authority for the Development of Makkah and the Saudi Anti-Rumors Authority clarified the truth of this matter at the time.
