What is the truth behind the viral video that purports to show the home of the Mossad’s most important agent in Tehran, where large amounts of U.S. dollars appear to be hidden inside the house?

A video circulated on social media accompanied by text stating, “Iranian authorities raid the home of the Mossad’s most important agent in Tehran, and it appears that huge amounts of U.S. dollars are hidden there.”

The Truth
The circulating video, which purports to show the home of the Mossad’s most important agent in Tehran and appears to depict massive amounts of U.S. dollars hidden inside the house, is not real; it has been determined to be a fabrication created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

We examined the circulating video using specialized tools for visual content analysis, and the results showed that the scenes depicted are unrealistic and that the video was generated using highly advanced AI technology.
We also examined the video using Google’s “Gemini” tool, and technical analysis confirmed that the video was entirely generated by AI and is not real footage.
Several indicators in the video also suggest that it is not real, including:
  • Bundles of cash and gold bars appear to blend and overlap with rubble and rocks in an unnatural way, and the camera movement and light sources lack realistic physical characteristics.
  • When zooming in on the edges of the stacks of cash and gold bars, they lack fine details and consistent features; in some shots, they appear as smooth or melted masses, without any engravings or clear, natural details.
We also conducted research to verify the validity of this circulating claim, using keywords in both Arabic and Persian search engines, but we did not find any reliable sources to support these claims, nor did any Iranian or international media outlets cover this story.

From time to time, videos or images generated by artificial intelligence—which are fabricated or misleading—circulate with the aim of stirring up controversy or misleading the public.

Among these images is one purportedly showing the Azadi Tower in Tehran illuminated in the colors of the Iraqi flag; however, upon verification, it was found to have been generated using AI technology.

A video was also circulated that purported to show a cardboard cutout of Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei during his father’s funeral procession; however, upon verification, it was determined that the video was fake and generated using AI technology.
