What is the truth about the death of former Iraqi football star Hussein Saeed?

Several pages on social media platforms circulated the following news: "Urgent Hussein Saeed, the former star of our team, has died."

The truth:

1- The news about the death of the former Iraqi football star Hussein Saeed is false. He is still alive, as he posted a video clip on his official Facebook page in which he stated that he was in good health and focused on sports exercises and physical therapy.

2- The page that published the news is fake and does not belong to the official Audience Studio program page on Facebook. Also, after reviewing the Audience Studio page, we did not find any source for this claim.

Hussein Saeed is a former Iraqi football player. He is considered one of the best football players in Iraq and one of the best scorers in Iraqi football, scoring 78 international goals. After leaving the stadiums, Hussein Saeed held many administrative positions, such as Director of the Foreign Relations Office in the Iraqi Olympic Committee, Vice-President of the Iraqi Football Association, Secretary, Vice-President and Secretary-General of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, and before a member of the Fair Play Committee of the Asian Football Confederation and then a member of the office Executive Director of the Asian and Arab Federations and a member of the media committee of the International Federation of Football and the head of the Women’s Football Committee in the Arab Football Association and served as the head of the Iraqi Football Association and most recently a member of the Executive Office of the West Asian Federation.
