A page in the name of "the official office of the religious authority Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi" circulated the following news: "His Eminence, the religious authority Bashir al-Najafi, that the game of raising the US dollar exchange rate in front of the oppressed Iraqi people from some of those who belong to the holy Najaf Hawza for their interests and do not care about what the Iraqi citizen is going through will not pass without a response and punishment from us."
The truth:
1- The circulating news is incorrect. After searching and checking the official website and the pages of the religious authority Sheikh Bashir al-Najafi we did not find any statement similar to what was circulated.
2- The page that published the statement is fake, and it was newly created on February 22, 2022, while the original official page was created on April 16, 2009.
He is Bashir Hussain bin Sadiq bin Ali, a contemporary Shiite religious authority. He was born in 1942 in the city of Jalandhar in India. He grew up in a religious family. His grandfather and his father were clerics. He studied grammar, morphology, rhetoric, and jurisprudence in the city of Lahore, and immigrated in 1965 to the city of Najaf in Iraq and settled to continue his seminary studies, and has several books, including (100 questions about the five, a pause with imitators of the dead, deputy Habib Allah, contemporary jurisprudence research) and other publications.
