Did NASA Warn of a Solar Storm during the next months that caused the Interruption Of The Internet?
A piece of news was circulated on social media: "Breaking: NASA warns that in a solar storm coming next months or at the end of the year, causing internet interruption worldwide for months or years."
The Truth:
The news is fake, as the U.S. Space Agency (NASA), or any space agency or center, has not announced or warned of similar news about the arrival of a solar storm next months that is impacting Internet service and disrupting it.
Nasa announced on March 30, 2023, that a new computer model that combines artificial intelligence (AI) and NASA satellite data could sound the alarm for dangerous space weather.
The model uses AI to analyze spacecraft measurements of the solar wind (an unrelenting stream of material from the Sun) and predict where an impending solar storm will strike, anywhere on Earth, with 30 minutes of advance warning.:
"This could provide just enough time to prepare for these storms and prevent severe impacts on power grids and other critical infrastructure."
What do you know about solar flares?
Solar flares are sudden energy explosions caused by tangling, crossing, or reorganizing magnetic field lines near sunspots.
The magnetic field lines near sunspots often tangle, cross, and reorganize. This can cause a sudden explosion of energy called a solar flare. Solar flares release a lot of radiation into space. If a solar flare is very intense, its radiation can interfere with our radio communications here on Earth.
Usually, Solar flares occur when the sun ejects a giant bubble of charged particles called plasma out into space shaped like winds and flares. The reason for the storm is a vibration wave of sun wind or magnetic field cloud which reacts with Earth's magnetic field.
We have already clarified the truth of a similar fake claim about Internet outages as a result of a solar storm after it was circulated last year.
