What is the truth about the video clip showing Mohammed Salah blocking the Saudi Al-Ittihad Club account on the X platform?
A video clip circulated on social media platforms showing the Egyptian player (Mohammed Salah) browsing the X platform and then blocking the (Saudi Al-Ittihad Club) account on the platform, and Salah ends the video with the phrase “Salah is staying.”
The truth:
The video clip is fake, as it turned out after a reverse search that the original version of the video clip had previously been shared by the official Liverpool FC channel on YouTube on July 1, 2022, with the title:
"Mo Salah signs a new contract with Liverpool Football Club."
The original video clip shows Salah browsing posts on the X platform (which was then known as Twitter), then pressing the follow button for the Liverpool FC account, then smiling and repeating the phrase, “Salah is staying.”
That is, the video clip was fabricated by adding incorrect parts that show Salah banning the Saudi Al-Ittihad Club account.
This claim comes after Liverpool FC rejected a huge offer worth 150 million pounds from the Saudi Jeddah Club, in exchange for including Egyptian star Mo Salah, according to press reports on September 1, 2023.
