Unraveling the Truth Behind the Viral Video of a Mysterious Sky Phenomenon in Libya Before Hurricane Daniel.
A video clip was circulated on social media platforms captioned: “A strange shape appeared in the skies of Libya before the arrival of Hurricane Daniel.”
The truth:
The circulating post is fake, as the attached clip is old and was previously published on various websites in 2022. Upon further investigation, it turns out that it dates back to a rocket launching into space, and the apparent appearance is the effect that the rocket leaves in the sky after its launch.
Also, by searching through the keywords (rocket+lights+sky), we found several clips similar to the popular format that were previously filmed in several different American cities (Florida, California, and Arizona).
That is, the clip is old and has nothing to do with the current events in Libya.
A hurricane struck Libya on September 10, 2023, followed by heavy and torrential rains, causing a large number of damages, with the number of missing people reaching thousands.
The Libyan city of Derna is one of the cities most affected by this natural disaster, as two dams and several bridges collapsed, which exacerbated the situation in the city and drowned a large part of it.
