What is the truth about the circulating photo showing a giant dog?
A photo circulated on social media platforms captioned: "The last giant Irish gray hound."
The truth:
The circulated post is fabricated, as the photo is unreal and has not been published by relevant global agencies responsible for archiving photos.
An account on the website 9gag shared the photo on September 3, accompanied by the hashtag #AI, which is an abbreviation for "Artificial Intelligence." The account also commented on the post, saying:
"Hi, I’m op, I put in the tag AI.. I made this with Midjourney"
Additionally, Snopes previously verified the same photo and found the earliest publication of it to be in August 2023, through a Facebook group called "Cursed AI," where generated photos by AI are shared.
Furthermore, there are other photos of animals appearing larger in size compared to humans, all generated by AI. There are numerous accounts dedicated to creating unrealistic photos.
