What is the truth about actor Mel Gibson supporting the Palestinian cause by publishing a post on Facebook?

A screenshot of an account named Mel Gibson circulated on social media platforms attached to a picture of an Israeli flag modified with an hourglass instead of a star, with text: "soon the end and they know it, that's why they want to destroy everything in the way."

The truth:

The attached claim is not true. Upon searching, no reports from international agencies were found that mentioned a similar statement recently issued by the artist.

Additionally, there is no Facebook account associated with the circulated screenshot. Moreover, no official account belonging to Gibson was found on social media platforms. Upon investigation, it was discovered that multiple accounts were impersonating the artist.

Furthermore, a verified account with a blue badge was found on Platform X under the username (_melgibson1), but it was created recently in January 2023. It is worth noting that anyone can verify their account on Platform X under any name.

Additionally, an account created in 2014 was located under the username (MelGibsonFilms). However, the owner stated in the bio:

"•I•AM•NOT•MEL•GIBSON•."

Annahar Al Arabi has verified the same post, stating that:

“This post is false, fabricated.”
