Did Muqtada al-Sadr call on his supporters to destroy their voter cards?

A statement attributed to the account of (Saleh Mohammed al-Iraqi), who is close to the leader of the Sadrist movement (Muqtada al-Sadr), circulating on social media platforms, in which the account quotes the latter as calling on his supporters to destroy their voter cards in front of pulpit preachers on Friday.

The truth:

The circulated statement is fake. Until the writing of this post, no such statement, as claimed in the alleged statement, has been published by any of the accounts associated with Saleh Mohammed Al-Iraqi. The statement falsely calls for destroying voter cards for the reasons mentioned in the alleged statement.

Moreover, the circulated statement contains several Arabic spelling errors, most notably the words (their cards) and (the minarets), whereas the correct forms differ. It is worth noting that statements issued by Al-Sadr are consistently free of such errors.

Furthermore, Al-Sadr had called on his supporters to boycott the upcoming elections for the provincial councils, scheduled for December 18, 2023, in a post published through the accounts of Saleh Mohammed Al-Iraqi on November 13, 2023, considering it a reduction of its legitimacy both externally and internally.
