What is the truth behind the circulated photos claiming to be of the killer of Kirkuk police officer Ali Arkan Saeed Al-Salihi?

A post circulated on social media accompanied by a text stating, "Fawaz Saleh Sahab, one of the perpetrators of today's attack in Kirkuk."

The truth

The attached claim is misleading and incorrect. The photos do not belong to the killer of (Ali Arkan Al-Salihi), a member of the Kirkuk police force, as claimed. The photos are old and belong to a person named (Fawaz Al-Obaidi), who has no connection to the incident. (Al-Obaidi) is still active on social media websites, indicating that he is not the perpetrator, contrary to what has been circulated by some social media users.

Moreover, the Ministry of Interior announced on June 7, 2024, that two members of the theft gang that clashed with the rescue patrol during which (Ali Arkan Al-Salihi) was on duty were arrested.

During a clash between a Kirkuk police patrol and an armed gang, the officer (Ali Arkan Saeed Al-Salihi), who is the son of the head of the retirement department of the Kirkuk police, passed away.
