What is the truth about the circulated photo near the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him?
A photo has been circulated on social media claiming to show a man and a woman in an immoral situation near the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
The truth
The circulated photo is fabricated. The position of the man with the woman standing next to him has been manipulated. The original photo, which was previously circulated on various sites in 2023, shows the man placing his hand on the woman's back, unlike the altered photo where the man's hand position has been changed. The fabricator also reduced the photo's resolution to make the modification less noticeable.
This photo is being circulated coinciding with the approaching anniversary of Imam Hussein's martyrdom (peace be upon him), which falls on the tenth of Muharram. This is one of the important occasions for Muslims, remembering the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his companions in the Battle of Karbala.
