Did the TikToker Hossam, known as HusHus, insult Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)?
A video clip accompanied by a text stating "In Muharram, HusHus insults Imam Hussain" was circulated on social media platforms.
The Truth
The attached claim is not true, as Hossam Al-Ameer, AKA (HusHus), did not insult or curse Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) as alleged. The deceiver edited a small clip from a longer video we found where (HusHus) was talking with his mother. His mother mentioned the name of Imam Hussain, to which he responded by saying, "Wandar Alij wa Ala Al-Hussain Salam Allah Alaih," which in the dialect of some regions in western Iraq means "I vow for you and for Hussain" or "I sacrifice for you and for Hussain."
He also addressed people who create video clips of him, asking them not to design songs on his clips out of respect for the sanctity of Muharram.
What does the month of Muharram represent for Iraqis?
It is the first month in the Hijri calendar, during which one of the most important religious events for Muslims occurs. They commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and his companions in Karbala during the Battle of Karbala.
