The truth
The image is fake. The fabricator used the news template of (I News Channel) to spread the misleading news. It is noticeable that the font used in the fabricated image differs from the font used in the channel's templates. Additionally, the channel has denied publishing such news.
As for the attached claim, we did not observe any visit by Ammar al-Hakim to the condolence gathering for the religious scholar (Ali al-Sistani) held on Sunday, July 14, 2024, corresponding to the eighth of Muharram in the Hijri calendar. No news was published stating al-Hakim's attendance on local channels.
Who is Ammar al-Hakim?
Ammar Abdul Aziz Mohsen al-Hakim is an Iraqi politician and the son of the former president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq. He became president after his father's death in 2009 until 2017, when he announced his withdrawal and the formation of a new party named "National Wisdom Movement."
