Several pages and public groups on social media platforms circulated a photo attached with the following text: "Urgent... News about the death of the artist Kadim Al Sahir as a result of a heart attack in Rabat, the capital of Morocco."

The truth:

1. The circulating news regarding the death of the Iraqi artist Kadim Al Sahir due to a heart attack in Morocco is false, and Al Sahir is still alive.

We contacted the Iraq Artists Syndicate, Dr. Jabbar Jodi, who in turn denied the news of Al Sahir's death, stressing that it is a rumor.

2. The Asia TV channel template was used to spread the fake news, and after reviewing the mentioned channel’s websites on Facebook and other platforms, we did not find any source of this publication, which negates the allegations circulated by pages on social media platforms.

What do you know about Kadim Al Sahir?

Kadim Al Sahir is an Iraqi singer and composer, born on September 12, 1957, in Mosul, Iraq.

He has many titles, the most important of which are "The Ambassador of the Iraqi Song" and "Caesar of the Arabic Song", which was granted to him by the late Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani.

Kadim began his artistic life through his cooperation with the poet Aziz Al-Rassam and then with the well-known poet Karim Al-Iraqi in the introduction of the series (A Song Shajaha Alnaas) was titled “Nadia” in 1987, and his first artistic success was in 1989 in the song “Abart al Shat”, after which he traveled to Kuwait And then Beirut, which inspired him with songs such as “Nezelat lil Bahr,” “Hatha Al Lon” and “Kathur Al Hadith.” His first collaboration with the poet Nizar Qabbani was in the poem “Eny Khayrtki,” which had met great success, and then “Zideni Ashkan” and "Fi Madrasat Al Hob," which made him one of the best Arab singers.

Al Sahir did not stop with singing and composing, but he appeared in the series "Al-Mosafer" and was the star for it. The series is considered a photo album to present the work of Al Sahir in a dramatic way.

After that, Kadim’s successes continued, as the song “Ha Habibi” won the Academy Award from the Cinema and People magazine in Egypt in 1997, and he presented the song “Tathakkar” which was translated into 18 international languages, and he won it from UNESCO as the best song for children and received the Medal of Honor in Paris. His song "ana wa laila" ranked sixth in the poll conducted by the British BBC about the most influential songs, and his song "Wa eni Ouhiboki", which foreign critics described as a symphonic work, as well as the song "madrasat al hob", which was described as the bride of songs for this century.
