What Is The Truth About The Death of A Young Man Known As Wissam al-Sadr During The Recent Events In The Green Zone?
News circulated on social media that: "Just Now, the death of the Christian Wissam, who came up with the saying "when he passed by me I cried", due to injuries in the head and chest area in the clashes inside the Green Zone this afternoon, take a minute of your time and pray for him".
The Truth
The circulating news is false, the young man (Wissam Kleiman Wadih) AKA (Wissam Al-Sadri) is still alive, and he posted on his personal page on Facebook several hours ago this morning, Thursday, August 31, 2022, which confirms that he is alive.
The circulation of this fake news coincides with the death of a number of martyrs and the injury of several other demonstrators as a result of the escalation of protests inside the Green Zone in the capital, Baghdad, and their entry into the government palace building in Baghdad during the past two days, before the leader of the Sadrist movement (Muqtada al-Sadr) directed during a press conference on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, supporters of the Sadrist movement among the demonstrators to withdraw and end the sit-ins that began since the 30th of July 2022, after large numbers of Sadrists' supporters entered the Green Zone and reached the parliament building and announced an open sit-in stressing the demands of (Al-Sadr), who demanded through a tweet posted on his account On Twitter on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, the dissolution of Parliament.

The young Wissam al-Sadr became known after a video circulated of his interview with the channel (Rudaw) as part of its coverage of the unified Friday prayer that was held on July 15, 2022, in the Sadr City, Baghdad, at the invitation of al-Sadr, and the young Wissam said in the video, speaking about Muqtada al-Sadr, “He passed by me and I swear to God I cried" claiming to have seen him, but Al-Sadr was not present at the prayer, And a picture circulated that was claimed to show Al-Sadr, but after verifying it, it turned out that the person was (Hazem Al-Araji), one of the members of the committee supervising the organization of the unified Friday prayer.
