What Is the Truth About the Circulating Video Showing Uday Saddam Overseeing the Assassination of Marja' Muhammad Al-Sadr?
A video circulated on social media platforms with the following text: "The criminal Uday oversees the assassination of Mr. Al-Sadr and his two sons."
The clarification:
The circulating video is not real, it belongs to a drama film about the assassination of religious authority (Muhammad Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr), and the character shown in the video is an actor who played (Uday Saddam Hussein) in the film, meaning that the video is not a real assassination, and this can be seen by comparing several photos of Uday with the person shown in the video.
Note that some real clips were merged into the film, where Al-Sadr and his two sons appeared.
The circulation of this video coincides with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the martyrdom of (Al-Sadr), on May 23, 2023.
While the leader of the Sadr movement (Muqtada al-Sadr) decided to cancel the mourning ceremonies on the anniversary of his father's martyrdom and directed to close his shrine for five days through an audio clip that he posted on his Twitter account on May 14, 2023, as a "punishment" for the People of the Cause as he said.
He also appeared in a video during his visit to the shrine of his martyr father and sent a message from inside the shrine, in which he stated:
"Whoever claims that I am Imam Mahdi is the enemy of God and the enemy of the al-Sadr family, and my enemy in particular."
Added:
"The political war with the corrupt has turned into an ideological war. This is the habit of the corrupt and dissidents, and they are supported by foreign hands."
