What is the truth about Sultan Al Omani’s involvement in the terrorist operation in Muscat?
Some social media pioneers circulated news in which they claimed that former artist Sultan Al Omani participated in the terrorist operation that targeted a mosque in the Sultanate of Oman on the evening of Monday, July 15, 2024.
The truth
The Royal Oman Police stated that the perpetrators of the terrorist attack were three Omani brothers who were killed after resisting security personnel during the incident.
The retired artist (Sultan Al Omani) also appeared in a short video clip on Friday, July 19, 2024, during which he denied the rumors circulating about his involvement in the terrorist operation and declared, “I am innocent of these ideas and of my brothers”, indicating that he rejects aggressive and sectarian ideas.
The incident occurred in the Wadi Al-Kabir area in Muscat Governorate, and left a number of victims and wounded. The terrorist organization ISIS also claimed responsibility for the attack through a video clip broadcast by the organization of the moment the mosque was attacked with gunshots, followed by another clip in which the three people appeared announcing their pledge of allegiance to the caliph of the organization. And their announcement of claiming responsibility for the attack.
That is, the circulating claim about the involvement of Sultan Al Omani contradicts what the Omani police said about the killing of the perpetrators of the attack.
