What is the truth about the account on Platform X named Latifa Ismail Haniyeh?
Recently, an account has been active on Platform X (formerly Twitter) under the name Latifa Ismail Haniyeh, claiming to belong to the daughter of the head of the Hamas movement.
The truth:
The account does not belong to Haniyeh's daughter (Latifa), as we have identified several points about it, as follows:
1- The account is new, created at the beginning of July 2024, with the username (GhzhBnt27956).
2- The account's photo is of Haniyeh's granddaughter (Roua Hamma) who died in an airstrike on the Gaza Strip in November 2023.
3- At the beginning of its activation, the account shared posts and tagged random accounts in an attempt to gain followers and increase engagement.
4- The account shared pictures claiming they belong to girls from the Haniyeh family, but in reality, this is false and the pictures have no connection to the Haniyeh family. Two of the pictures actually belong to an activist from Gaza named (Malak Fida), who shares her activities on social media by helping displaced people in tents through cooking food and collecting donations.
Additionally, one of the pictures shared by the account claimed to be of Haniyeh's granddaughter (Roua), who was studying medicine before her death. However, the picture actually belongs to a model for a hijab store in Turkey. The store's account (Hijabi Store) shared several videos of the same girl showcasing their products.
This account exploited the recent events involving the death of (Ismail Haniyeh) in Iran to gain interaction.
Haniyeh, 62 years old, was killed in an airstrike targeting his residence in northern Tehran on the morning of Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Hamas accused Israel of being behind it.
Haniyeh, known as (Abu al-Abed), was the head of Hamas' political bureau since 2017 until his death. He also served as the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority in 2006.
