What is the truth of the leader’s Minister’s statement regarding his hint at besieging Iyad Allawi’s headquarters?
A post circulated on social media platforms claiming to have been issued by (Saleh Mohammed Al-Iraqi) in response to one of the inquirers, which read as follows: “We did not order it and are not responsible for the spontaneous movement of the masses. If you ask me, I will tell you, I swear, I do not know.”
The truth:
The circulating post is fake and incorrect, as the person close to the leader of the Sadrist movement (Muqtada al-Sadr), known as (Minister of the Leader), did not publish a similar statement through his official accounts, meaning that the statement was fabricated and no statement was issued by the Leader's Minister until the moment of publishing this article.
This claim comes after the leader of the National Coalition (Iyad Allawi) appeared in a statement in which he spoke about members of the Al-Mahdi Army directing their cannons at the courtyard of Imam Ali during the Najaf events to accuse the government of this act, during an interview on Channel 4 on September 17, 2023.
Allawi then published a statement on September 19, 2023, in which he stated:
“Dr. Iyad Allawi’s talk was about the presence of infiltrators claiming to belong to the Imam Al-Mahdi Army, and they were bombing Al-Hadra for the purpose of stirring up strife between the government and the Sadrist movement at the time.”
