What is the truth about the circulated post regarding an Iraqi girl named Raghad Abdullah Al-Obaidi, whom ISIS executed in Mosul?
A video clip accompanied by text and a picture has been circulated on social media, claiming to show an Iraqi girl named (Raghad Abdullah Al-Obaidi) executed by ISIS when it occupied the city of Mosul.
The Truth
The circulated post is misleading, as the picture is from a scene in a play performed by a group of Syrian refugee women, showcasing their experiences with war and conflict in Syria. This play was presented at the National Center for Culture and Arts in Amman, Jordan, in 2013.
Where they performed an updated Arabic version of the play (The Trojan Women) by the Greek tragic poet (Euripides).
Regarding the circulated story about an Iraqi girl named (Raghad) who was executed by ISIS after revealing 60 of their locations, which were subsequently bombed by airstrikes, we did not find any official or real source for this story.
It is worth noting that we had clarified the truth of this post back in 2017, when it was circulated with pictures claiming to show a Palestinian girl who was killed by the Turkish army while trying to escape ISIS control in Syria.
