What's the truth about the video of terrorist operations in conjunction with Paris Olympics is attributed to Hamas?
A video went viral on social media showing a person wearing a Palestinian Keffiyeh covering his face and a shirt printed with the Palestinian flag. The person threatened to do assassination operations in Paris due to Israel's participation in the Paris Olympics.
The truth
The attached claim is untrue، as follows:
- Hamas hasn't posted a video on its official accounts, which it uses to post its statements.
- The person shown in the video is not affiliated with Hamas, as has been claimed.
- While reviewing the video, we observed weak Arabic proficiency, with mispronunciations and verbal mistakes for several words such as (Allah, the system, and against). This is in contrast to various videos that show Hamas's spokesman.
4- The commander (Izzat al-Risheq) of Hamas has denied the video attributed to Hamas, stating:
"Accounts belonging to the Israeli occupation have posted a fake video attributed to the resistance."
5-Andreas Krieg, a senior lecturer of security studies in London, reported to Middle East Eye that the video is not related to Hamas for several reasons. One of them is that:
"Hamas is not a globally operating terrorist organisation"
. He added:
We have no idea who did this,”
said Krieg.
“But it wasn’t made by a Palestinian. It’s unlikely to be Hamas-affiliated or even Palestine-affiliated.”
5- Tal Hagin, a specialist in the data war in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, mentioned that a video went viral for the first time on a platform X by a user named "endzionist24." This user had previously followed fake and pornographic accounts, but suddenly began following accounts that supported Palestine.
This video has been circulating in conjunction with the opening of the Paris Olympics 2024, on the Seine River, with the participation of many players and teams from around the world.
