Did Hazem Al-Araji Say That Basim Karbalaei Is A Lost Person Who Will Soon Be In The Hands of Justice?

A statement attributed to Hazem Al-Araji circulated on social media platforms: "Hazem Al-Araj: Basim Karbalaei is a lost person, and soon he will be in the hands of justice."

The Truth:

The circulating news is fake, and (Hazem Al-Araji) did not make such a statement, and it was confirmed after reviewing his accounts on social media and his speeches that don't mention this subject.

The circulation of this news comes after the spread of a video of Al-Radoud (Basim Al-Karbalaei) singing a poem at a Husseini council, which sparked controversy in Iraqi circles, on September 11th, 2022.

On September 12, 2022, the Religious Endowments Committee in the Iraqi parliament denounced and declared in a statement reported by local news agencies, “In the strongest terms, what was said in one of the Husseini councils by al-Radoud Basim al-Karbalaei and his dare to attack the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and describing them in such vocabulary cannot be tolerated; Because it stirs up strife and sectarianism among people of the same country.”

The committee said: “The Islamic nation is facing major crises and challenges, and what we need today is to end classism, reject sectarianism, and avoid provoking sectarian and doctrinal conflicts, and as it is known to the near and far, these disagreements do not represent the foundations of religion or its pillars.”

And added: “In these painful days for Muslims, which is the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet, who holds the sign of reform and Islamic unity, who sacrificed himself and his family for the sake of Islam’s elevation and unity, Therefore, it is befitting for us to have a lesson and a shining lamp with which to illuminate ourselves, and for these Husseini councils not to be a tool to instill conflict between sects."

The Religious Endowments Committee in the Iraqi parliament demanded: “The Shiite Endowment Bureau, to bear its legal and legal responsibility, to intervene quickly to stop such violations that occur from time to time, which seek to perpetuate division and split, deepen the sectarian differences between Muslims, and follow up on those councils and urge them to unite the people.”

During these days, visitors in various Arab and Islamic countries commemorate the fortieth mourning anniversary of Imam Hussein in the city of Karbala, in an atmosphere of sadness during which black flags are raised in mourning for the incident of Imam Hussein.
