The truth about the document that shows the reference’s answer to a question regarding the Shariah ruling on Rafha’s salaries and privileges

A document was shared on social media and captioned: "Grand Ayatollah Sistani issues a fatwa regarding the inviolability of the salaries of political prisoners and the Rafha camp, who receive more than one salary."

The truth:

The attached document is incorrect. When we searched the official website of the office of Sayyid (Ali Al-Sistani) we did not find any referendum or similar statement regarding the legal ruling on Rafha salaries. In addition, the answer shown in the document includes an incorrect statement (unreasonable) instead of the correct (non-reasonable) statement.

Note that we have previously clarified the truth of this document twice in 2019 and 2020 when we contacted the reference office directly and indirectly, and the news was denied.

While the reference office indicated that this forged document does not mean that the reference necessarily endorses these privileges. Rather, "the reference rejected the privileges given to the government, representatives, presidencies, special degrees, or to some people simply by addressing them with a title, in reference to Rafha and others," according to the special response to (Tech4Peace) at the time.

Sayyid (Rasheed Al-Husseini) also stated in a previous episode of the “Fiqh Al-Mustafa” program, which he presents, and in an interview with him about his answer to a question regarding the permissibility of receiving (Rafha’s salaries) the following text: Legislating laws that make privileges for some people and some segments without others, and the Hawza considers that these legislations create alienation among the members of society.”
